Lollipop Android has designed over from Android KitKat. But what makes it  owesome, and what are the main differences?

Android Lollipop is a huge update that Google sees its already mature platform take several steps further. The Big G has strengthened almost all elements of its mobile platform, refining the look of Android in all areas, and retouching tools and back-end protocols for the platform even more efficient.

But it’s not just Apple that has something to boast in Q1 2015. No! Google does too, after its Android platform hit the billion mark shipping. We just received word from Strategy Analytics thousand million Android smartphones were shipped in 2014 – a first for any mobile platform.

Neil Mawston, Executive Director at Strategy Analytics, added, “Android 1.0 million smartphones shipped worldwide in 2014, increasing from 0.8 million units in 2013. Android has become the first ever smartphone operating system send to more than one billion units in a single year. Android accounted for a huge 81 percent share of all smartphones shipped worldwide in 2014, and Apple iOS remains his only serious threat for now. Apple iOS sent 192.7 million smartphones worldwide in 2014, capturing 15 percent share. The new models Plus iPhone 6 and 6 have recently revitalized Apple’s growth and large screen designs have rapidly gained ground among wealthy consumers ” .

The Lollipop Android update itself is huge and if you are running a Motorola or Nexus device, you will see it in all its glory. Fortunately, many of the big players have begun reducing its Android custom skins in view of Lollipop. Most notable, however, is Samsung, which confirmed plans to TouchWiz on board the Galaxy S6 more like the UX found in the Nexus One from Google in June.
